The Center offers a variety of programs and services to keep members and older adults active and involved in the community. There are weekly programs that include exercise class, cards, Needle Nook and games. On a monthly basis there are lunches, movies, book group, crafts and meetings. Throughout each month we select many other programs outside of the Center that include trips to area museums, sporting events, restaurants, theaters and shopping.
THE MARIELDERS, INC. also provides referral services and assistance for individuals who are having a difficult time at home. We can provide a list of organizations who can help with personal care services, assist in reviewing health insurance forms, bills from doctor’s offices, and filling out applications for Medicare and Medicaid programs, just to list a few things.
The Center offers two transportation programs:
The Van shuttle provides rides to stores, businesses, shops and offices in our service area which includes Mariemont, Fairfax, Terrace Park, Plainville and Madison Place. The van shuttle runs Monday through Friday from 9:15 am to 4:00 pm. Please call at least one day ahead to make your reservation for a ride.
Volunteer/medical service transportation is provided outside of our service area by volunteer drivers who can drive you to and from medical facilities and doctor offices within a twenty mile radius.
Please call at least 3 to 5 day in advance to arrange for this service.
There are a variety of opportunities to volunteer at the Center from front desk/phone receptionist, to helping with fundraising events, to driving members to doctor visit. We appreciate the time and energy our volunteers give to the Center.
