About us

THE MARIELDERS, INC. began operation as The Mariemont Assembly Program for Older Adults in November 1977. In 1978 the Center was the first in the state of Ohio to ask and pass a property tax levy to help fund social services and activities for senior citizens. Our group incorporated as THE MARIELDERS, INC. in 1986, as an Ohio corporation not-for-profit 501-C3 organization.

We have had a few different homes over the last thirty or so years but in 1998 we purchased our current home. Recently we have updated the Center with new paint, carpet and furniture. It’s a great place to come and spend an afternoon.

Serving the members of THE MARIELDERS is the reason the Center exists.  Members support the activities through various fundraisers and volunteer opportunities.  A Members Council, comprised of active members of THE MARIELDERS, was formally established in 1980 with the adoption of our Constitution and By-Laws.  The President of the Members Council serves as an Ex-Officio member of the Board of Trustees.  The President serves a one year term and the members hold a meeting the first Tuesday of each month at the Center.
